Financing the acquisition of a majority stake in Scandlines Holding ApS, the operator of two short-haul traffic machines transporting passengers and commercial traffic between Germany and Denmark.
The ferry operator serves a strategic connection between Scandinavia and Germany, which in the absence of better land route alternatives represents a “floating highway”. Scandlines has a strong track record of disciplined investment and traffic management through competitive pricing and targeted marketing programmes.
The Fund took the longer-term maturity in a club financing in a conservative financing structure with sufficient equity cushion at holding company level and investment grade operating company debt.
